Arkansans are typically familiar with the Emerald Coast, as many will travel near Destin for a vacation now and then. Those who regularly visit the area are most likely familiar with Another Broken Egg Cafe, and will be pleased to discover the franchise will soon call Little Rock home in a two-store development deal.
The cafe is currently looking in the Midtown and West Little Rock area. The current schedule has the first location opening tentatively in late spring of 2016, with a second coming at the end of 2016.
For those who aren’t familiar with the brand, get ready for a breakfast, brunch, and lunch option, open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The eatery is an award-winning franchise, celebrated for its charming atmosphere and diversified menu options.
The Little Rock locations will be owned and operated by brother-and-sister-duo Lacy Galligan and Ray Pynes II. Residents of Shreveport, La., the two first discovered the brand after falling in love with the restaurant in Destin, Fla., where they vacationed frequently growing up. Galligan says, “We used to vacation on the Florida coast all the time, and loved Another Broken Egg. It’s so nice to be a part of something you really believe in.”
In 2010 the two opened their first location in Shreveport. They expanded with a second location in 2014 in Orange Beach, yet another popular spot for southern vacationers.
Little Rock was the next perfect location for expansion. Galligan says, “We studied the demographics and it’s really a great fit. There’s a strong medical community and it’s a growing foodie city in its own right. We noticed that you don’t really see a lot of breakfast options there currently.”
Top menu items include Bananas Foster, Huevos Rancheros, and Eggs Benedict, among other. Lunch touts gourmet burger and salads, including the ever-popular Kale and Salmon Salad. The eatery also comes with a fully equipped bar, so you can get a Mimosa or House-Infused Bloody Mary, along with a rotating list of locally brewed beers and spirits, any day of the week.
