Another Broken Egg Cafe® Honors Those with a Serving Heart this Veterans Day

The franchise restaurant speaks up about their experience working with military veterans and asked a few to share their stories of joining the team.

Orlando, FL (Nov. 11, 2019) – Another Broken Egg Cafe® is honored to work side-by-side with military veterans every day. In honor of Veterans Day, the brand reached out to their military veteran team members for interviews on their experience working with the franchise restaurant. The team’s response showed the brand just how special the opportunity to work side-by-side those with a serving heart really is. This Veterans Day, the brand wanted to share a few of their team members’ stories.

Ron Schier, the owner of a cafe recently opened in Auburn, AL, served in the US Army for 25 years before retiring. Both Ron and his wife Teresa come from military backgrounds; Ron is a retired Army Signal Corp Officer from Chicago and Teresa comes from a military family who has lived all over the world. Ron and Teresa have always been deeply passionate about serving others and after moving to Auburn, agreed the best way to continue serving in their area would be through the restaurant business.

Not only does Ron serve through his new cafe, but also through community outreach. Ron and Teresa are active participants of Dream Center Children’s Outreach with their church and Ron also serves on several advisory boards at Auburn University. Another Broken Egg Cafe is fortunate to have such service-driven individuals on their team.

The brand is also honored to be able to recognize Ron Stuart, the Director of Design and Construction for Another Broken Egg Cafe. Ron served in the US Army for four years and has since worked to create the perfect spaces for guests to relax and enjoy being served a delicious meal.

Ron shared that his favorite aspect of working at Another Broken Egg Cafe is collaborating with team members on new building projects. He values creating spaces for cafe guests to enjoy and will occasionally stop in for brunch. When asked if he had a menu favorite, Ron said “I enjoy changing my meals up, but I do seem to always find a reason to add City Grits® to my order!”

With numerous military veterans at all levels in their company, Another Broken Egg Cafe strongly believes in the importance of giving back. This Veterans Day, the cafe will be serving a free meal to all active and retired military members. The free meal includes the cafe’s Patriotic French Toast Combo and Coffee. This dish is made fresh with almond-crusted blueberry bread that is battered and grilled then topped with ripe berries and an icing drizzle.

The brand also wants to spread awareness to veterans about their recruitment portal, where job openings for the cafes are posted. To see if a cafe near you is hiring, please visit our employment page.
